Project Objectives

  • The major objective of the project is to implement the National Forest Policy and Chhattisgarh State Policy more specifically
    • Conserving and enhancing the floral and faunal diversity of forests of three selected sites through active involvement of Joint forest management committees.
    • Providing the sustainable livelihood support and herbal health care to communities through collection, value addition, processing and marketing of Minor Forest Produce through Primary Forest Cooperative Societies.
  • To promote the traditional agricultural and horticultural species which are being abandoned by the villagers.
  • To promote the local varieties of domestic animal and fish.
  • Maintenance and optimum utilisation of water bodies with active involvement of the community.

     PROJECT AREA:
           The project is implementing at 3 sites in 3 forest divisions ie Katghora, North Kondagaon and Jagdalpur of the state in selected 9364.653 ha.of forest area and adjoining villages.
