.: WELFARE SCHEMES FOR TENDUPATTA COLLECTORS

 

1.   Sharing of  Profit from Tendupatta trade

      The  profit earned from the trade of Tendu Leaves till 2007 season was distributed in the following manner.


    1. 70 % of profit as incentive wages to the collector of Tendu leaves.

    2. 15 % of profit for village resource development.

    3. 15% of profit for the development of forest and forest produce.


From the collection year 2008  profit earned from the trade of Tendu Leaves is distributed in the following manner.


    1. 80 % of profit as incentive wages to the collector of Tendu leaves.

    2. 15 % of profit for collection, sale, godowning and value additon of non-nationalised minor forest produce.

    3. 5% of profit for the temporary reimbursement of losses of societies.


           Primary co-operative societies are the basic unit for calculating the amount of profit. This results incompetitive spirit among primary co-operative societies so as to earn maximum income through quality control. The following table gives the details of the distribution of incentive wages distributed in last fifteen years.

2.   Distribution of  Charanpaduka's (Shoes) to collectors of Tendu leaves

            The Govt. of Chhattisgarh decided to provide Charanpaduka (Shoes/Chappal) to one in each family of Tendupatta collectors. From 2011-12 only those families are eligible who pluck minimum 500 gaddies in at least one year in preceding two years. To achieve this M.F.P. Federation invites tender at National level in which standard shoes manufacturing companies are participating. The details of distributed charanpaduka are as follows :-

3.   Distribution of  Synthetic Saree to collectors of Tendu leaves

            The Govt. of Chhattisgarh has decided to provide one Synthetic Saree free of cost to each family of Tendupatta collectors in the year 2013. Only those families are eligible who pluck minimum 500 gaddies in at least one year in preceding two years.

4.   Insurance Schemes for Tendupatta Collectors

            All tendupatta collectors whose age is between 18 and 59 years and whose families have collected 500 or more gaddies of tendupatta in at least in one of the last 2 years are insured under following insurance schemes :-

            (a)  Jan Shree Insurance Scheme

  • This scheme is for the head of all the tendupatta collector families. Scheme was started from 01.05.2007.

  • Following benefits are given to the head of the family or the nominated person in case of his death/disability :-

  • - Normal death - Rs. 30,000/-

  • - Partial disability - Rs. 37,500/-

  • - Accidental death or permanent disability - Rs. 75,000/-

  • Two children of the family head studying between 9th and 12th class and ITI get half yearly scholarship @ Rs. 600/- under Shiksha Sahyog Scheme.

            (b)  Group Insurance Scheme

  • This is the old insurance scheme for all tendupatta pluckers but from 01.05.2007 other members of the family except the head of the family one the beneficiaries.

  • Under this scheme following benefits are given to tendupatta collector/ his nominee :-

  • - Normal death - Rs. 3,500/-

  • - Partial disability - Rs. 12,500/-

  • - Accidental death or permanent disability - Rs. 25,000

            (c)  Atal Group Insurance Scheme

  • This scheme started from year 2011-12.

  • Under this scheme in case of death of any member of the family of tendupatta collector except the head of family, nominee is paid Rs. 6,500/-.

5.   Education Promotion Schemes

            Education schemes have been started for the children of head of tendupatta collector families who have collected 500 or more gaddies of tendupatta in at least two of the last three years.

            (a)(i)  Award to the meritorious student

The scheme has been launched from the education session 2011-12. In every Primary Co-operative Society one boy and one girl from the children of tendupatta pluckers family heads, who score the highest marks, are being given the following cash awards :-

           (a)(ii)  Scholarship for Professional Education

To encourage the professional education after 12th exam like Medical, Engineering, Law, MBA and Nursing etc, one student in every Primary Co-operative Society who scores maximum marks in 12th exam is given scholarship as follows :-

           (b)  Scholarship for Non-Professional Education

To encourage the non-professional graduation courses after 12th exam like B.A., B.Com., B.Sc. etc, one boy and one girl in every Primary Co-operative Society who scores maximum marks in 12th exam is given scholarship as follows :-

           (c)  Education Incentive scheme for Talented Students

  • This scheme has been started from the year 2012-13 for every talented student.

  • under this scheme all the girls and boys who score more than 75% marks in class 10th exam and class 12th exam get Rs. 15,000/- and Rs. 25,000/- respectively as award.

         For availing benefit of all these educational schemes, the students will have to submit prescribed application form in their respective Primary Co-operative Society's office.
